Wounded activist of Amtsakhara movement dies in hospital
Garri Ayba, a member of the political council of the social and political movement Amtsakhara, was wounded in Sukhum on June 9. An unknown criminal took a shot at him when Mr Ayba was driving out of his yard. He underwent an operation in the Sukhum town hospital, but he died several hours later. The case is being investigated by office of the Abkhazian prosecutor general.
The social and political movement Amtsakhara unites veterans of the Georgian-Abkhazian war of 1992-1993. Garri Ayba himself was decorated with the Order of Leon during the war.
