Moscow Government promotes economic cooperation with Abkhazia
During a meeting in a state summer residence in Novy Afon, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov discussed with Abkhazian Vice President Valery Arshba and Abkhazian Prime Minister Raul Khadzhimba prospects of establishing trade and economic relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Government of Moscow.
"The leadership of the Russian Federation is interested in effective economic cooperation between the Moscow Government and the Republic of Abkhazia," Mr Luzhkov said after the meeting. He mentioned one more time that his visit to Abkhazia had only business purposes. He said he would have to solve some economic questions during it. "We want to offer Abkhazia serious help, and I think our visit will be of real use to the republican population," Mr Luzhkov added.
The Moscow Mayor noted that the whole number of documents for rendering humanitarian aid, delivering road equipment, providing people with school textbooks, and assisting in the field of public health had already been signed with the leadership of the republic before.
