Arrest of Patimat Gadjieva extended for three months

The Solntsevo Court of Moscow has extended until August 20 the arrest of Patimat Gadjieva, a student from Dagestan, accused of public incitement to terrorism.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 24, the Solntsevo District Court of Moscow started to consider the case against Patimat Gadjieva, a native of Dagestan, accused under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public incitement to terrorism). According to investigators, the student posted on the Internet the symbols of the "Islamic State", banned in Russia. On April 20, the Court extended the pre-trial restriction measure against Patimat Gadjieva in the form of detention in custody until May 20.

According to Murad Aliev, an advocate of Patimat Gadjieva, the Solntsevo Court of Moscow has extended the arrest of his client until August 20. The advocate intends to file an appeal against the court decision.

Earlier, the advocate of Patimat Gadjieva has claimed that his client had no intention to incite hatred and call for terrorism and that when she posted her message on the social network, she "wanted to discuss with her friends the events in Syria."
