Sochi shared house-holders complain that they have no other housing
30 shareholders are preparing a petition to the Mayoralty with a demand to preserve their right to reside in the house in Fadeev Street in Sochi, declared illegally erected. Many buyers of apartments in the new buildings have now nowhere to live, said a participant in the meeting of shareholders.
They told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on July 29, 2015, Roman Melnikov and Vladimir Oskirko, who had been engaged in the construction and sale of apartments to shareholders, were convicted on charges of a large-scale fraud in. They were sentenced to one-year imprisonment in a general-security colony.
The shareholders say that they had themselves finished their apartments; but now court marshals demand their eviction.
About a hundred people, who bought housing from Melnikov, had sold out all their property in other cities and moved to Sochi; however, they are now without registration and rights for their certificates of apartment ownership, the victims said.
Alexander Zachitailov, the head of architecture of the city Mayoralty, has stated that "the city has declared the fight against unauthorized construction sites, and the Melnikov's illegal construction is no exception."
