Journalists worldwide condemn editor's abduction
Reporters Without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontieres or RSF), the international organization for the protection of freedom of the press, has come out in defense of Aidyn Guliev, editor of Baki Habar newspaper. In today's statement, RSF condemns the abduction and beating of the Baki Habar editor-in-chief by a group of people in masks. The document reads some details of how four strangers in masks abducted the editor near his house on July 17. Reporters Without Borders mark Aidyn Guliev's words that the people that seized him demanded changing the line of the oppositional newspaper.
The abduction and beating of the Baki Habar editor is a planned action against freedom of the press. This is what a statement says by the nation's three journalist organizations: Yeni Nesil, RUH and the Journalists Confederation. The journalist organizations demand that the authorities should see through all cases about attacks on journalists and take all measures required to protect freedom of speech and the press.
