Makhachkala Mayor sees political order in noise around conflict involving his son

According to Musa Musaev, Mayor of Makhachkala, people pay too much attention to the road conflict involving his son. The Mayor associates such excessive attention with his official position. Musa Musaev has stated that he did not intend to interfere in the course of the investigation and to free his son from blame.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 6, the investigating agencies disseminated the information that on May 31, in Makhachkala, policemen stopped a Mercedes-Gelendwagen car to check the driver's documents; however, the driver refused to present his documents. In the course of the incident, a 22-year-old son of the Makhachkala Mayor was detained. His bodyguards who accompanied him provoked a conflict. As a result, a policeman got his finger broken, and two others got bruises.

On June 7, Mayor Musa Musaev commented on the incident involving his son. He has claimed that he will not interfere in the course of the investigation.

"No one, including my family members, is allowed to break the law and the rules of behaviour. The incident will be reviewed by the law enforcement agencies from the point of view of the law, and they will produce a comprehensive legal assessment of the situation. I personally and members of my team do not intend to interfere in the course of the investigative measures and prevent the investigation. All people are equal before the law," declared Musa Musaev in his statement, sent by his press service to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Musa Musaev has treated the noise around the situation with the road conflict involving his son as a political order.
