Representatives of Caucasian peoples prepare cultural programmes within project "Ramadan Tent" in Moscow
Until July 4, Moscow holds the evenings of the Caucasian Peoples within the project "Ramadan Tent". This project shall be of charitable and educational functions, focused not only on Muslims. This opinion was expressed by experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".
The project is being carried out for the 11th time, the "Caucasian Knot" was told by the press secretary of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The project site was opened on June 7, and it will be run until July 4, that is, until the beginning of the holiday of Eid al-Fitr (July 5). This was reported by the website of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Russia.
The cultural and charitable project "Ramadan Tent" is intended to show the Muslim culture through the performances of representatives of the peoples professing Islam, reports the project's website.
The project is focused not only on Muslims, but on the rest of the society. This was emphasized by Igor Alekseev, the director of scientific programmes of the Mardjani Foundation.
At the site "Ramadan Tent", the programmes will be presented by the regions where Muslims make up the vast majority of the population. This was noted by Vladimir Bobrovnikov, Senior Researcher of the Centre for the Study of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Volga-Ural Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
On June 17, the "Ramadan Tent" will hold the evening of Dagestan, and on July 4, it will host the evening of the Dagestani Youth Association, activist Muslim reports.
