Dagestani truck driver intends to appeal against his detention

Rustam Mallamagomedov, a representative of Dagestan in the Russian Association of Carriers, has addressed an advocate with the intention to appeal against the actions of the policemen who had detained him. He also intends to challenge inclusion of his name in the wanted list.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Dagestan, at the Kochubeevskoe checkpoint of the road police (known as GIBDD), the police got off the bus Rustam Mallamagomedov, a representative of Dagestan in the Russian Association of Carriers. At night of July 10, he was released from the police.

"I have learned that I am wanted after the protests of truck drivers. I was surprised, since I had never had any problems with the police," said the activist.

He has suggested that his name was included in the wanted list because of his membership in the Russian Association of Carriers. Rustam Mallamagomedov has also reported that in March, he had already appealed to the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan with a request to provide him with information about the reasons for his inclusion in the wanted list.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2015, Russia introduced the system "Platon" to impose toll on heavy vehicles weighing more than 12 tons for the use of federal roads. The introduction of the system "Platon" caused discontent of carriers.
