Prosecutor's Office demands to arrest participant of miners' protests in Gukovo

In the Rostov Region, an official from the Prosecutor's Office of the town of Zverevo has sent to the court a request to change the pre-trial restriction measure to house arrest for Valery Dyakonov, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and one of the leaders of the miners on protest. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Valery Dyakonov himself.

Starting from May, in the Rostov Region, workers of the company "South Kingcoal" hold pickets with the demand to pay their wages. The companies incorporated in the "Kingcoal" are at different stages of bankruptcy.

The defendant has claimed that, according to the prosecutor, "on July 6, Valery Dyakonov did not attend the court hearing and reported that he had called an ambulance because of deterioration of his health caused by his hunger strike and he had refused hospitalization. However, according to the prosecutor, on July 7, Valery Dyakonov joined the miners at the picket in the town of Gukovo."

Prosecutor Nikolaeva has requested to change the pre-trial restriction measure from recognizance not to leave to house arrest. The advocate spoke against the prosecutor's request and explained that "Valery Dyakonov represents no danger for the society."

He has also reported that the participants of the picket in Gukovo decided to file on July 18 a notification to the administration of the continuation of daily pickets from July 22 to September 19.
