Diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan to Turkey operates in enhanced mode

Azerbaijani citizens, who stay in Turkey, which continues to suppress a coup, may apply for assistance to the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission representative offices in Ankara, Istanbul, and Kars. This was reported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Flights from Azerbaijan to Turkey have been cancelled.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 15, the Turkish military men made an unsuccessful attempt of an armed coup. As a result, 60 people were killed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has transferred all the country's diplomatic mission representative offices in Turkey to the enhanced mode of operation, the press service of the Azerbaijani MFA reports.

According to the MFA's spokesman, the diplomatic mission representative offices are ready to provide the citizens of Azerbaijan, who stay in Turkey, with all the necessary assistance.

Besides, the Azerbaijani MFA has expressed its support for the Erdogan's regime.

"It was an attempt to overthrow the Turkish government, democratically elected by the people of the country," announces the statement made by the Azerbaijani MFA.

As at 10:32 a.m. Moscow time, more than 1000 people are detained in Turkey. In the course of the suppression of the coup, at least 90 people were killed, and more than 1000 others were injured, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the Turkish news agency "Anadolu".
