In Armenia, Grand Prix of "Golden Apricot" festival goes to film about Rostov-on-Don
At the International Film Festival "Golden Apricot", which took place in Yerevan, the main prize went to "In front of the left bank", the only Russian film, directed by Evgeny Grigoriev.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 10, the thirteenth International Film Festival "Golden Apricot" was opened in Yerevan.
The festival was full of events. The programme "Armenian Cinema: Modernity" was devoted to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Armenia. The festival also held film screenings and round tables, which were chaired by Fred Kelemen, a German film director and cameraman, Želimir Žilnik, a Serbian film director, Russian film directors Vitaly Manskin and Andrei Loshak, and Homayoun Ershadi, an Iranian actor.
The shortlist includes only 12 out of 700 films submitted for participation in the festival. The main prize went to the film "In front of the left bank". "The film was made not by me, but by young guys from Rostov-on-Don. They used such a way to confess their love for their hometown and saw it as a reflection of themselves," said film director Evgeny Grigoriev as quoted by the "161.ru".
Let us remind you that in 2015, the main prize of the "Golden Apricot" went to the film "Embrace of the Serpent", created by Ciro Guerra, a Colombian film director maker. The 12th festival was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
