At rally in Gukovo, miners demand to pay off their wages
Workers from four mines of the company "Kingcoal" have stated that they had not yet received 300 million roubles of wage arrears. Besides, they have accused the authorities of ignoring their demands.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the enterprises belonging to the group of companies "Kingcoal-South" are at different stages of bankruptcy, and General Director Vladimir Pozhidaev is taken into custody. The miners demand to pay off wage arrears and solve a number of social issues. Otherwise, they threaten to go on hunger strike.
Today, despite heavy rain, former employees of the company "Kingcoal" who worked at the mines "Almaznaya", "Rostovskaya", "Gukovskaya", and "Zamchalovskaya" have come to a rally. About 200 people attended the protest action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to the protesters, they still have not been paid their wages for the total amount of 300 million roubles. Moreover, the protesters have claimed that the authorities do not solve the problem of failure to provide the miners with coal rations and the problem of flooding of mines around Gukovo.
The people came to the rally with posters reading: "Bring back our money, and we will decide by our own how we should live!", "Russian President! 300 million roubles are stolen from miners of Gukovo. On August 22, we go on hunger strike!", and "We are not slaves. Return our money!".
