In Mokok, tent camp arranged for victims of fire

A tent camp, a field kitchen and physicians on duty are organized for residents of the Dagestani village of Mokok, where at least 480 people were left homeless after a fire.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, a fire occurred in the village of Mokok of the Tsuntin District of Dagestan, and it caused great damage to local residents. The number of the people left homeless includes 190 children. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered to restore the houses of the villagers, and the authorities of Dagestan have allocated from the reserve fund the amount of 2.4 million roubles to be paid to the people affected by the fire.

According to residents of Mokok, people do not live in tents, since they are accommodated by their relatives whose houses are located farther from the fire centre.

Meanwhile, the Mokok villagers have complained about the uncertainty concerning the deadline for fulfilment of the Dmitry Medvedev's order for the restoration of the houses. "It's still not clear what will happen to the damaged houses. They may be demolished and the new houses may be built in their places or the houses for the fire victims will be built in other places," noted Magomedov, a resident of the Mokok village.
