In Gukovo, number of hunger-strikers exceeds 100 people

About 1900 miners out of more than 2200 workers of the "Kingcoal" group of companies, some of whom are involved in the hunger strike, have submitted their details to the "Regional Development Corporation" for repayment of wage arrears.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24, Vasily Golubev, Governor of the Rostov Region, met the hunger strikers in Gukovo. According to him, Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Regional Development Corporation" is ready to allocate 50 million roubles for the repayment of wage arrears to the workers of the enterprises of the "Kingcoal" group of companies.

Members of the miners' families also join the hunger strike. The people use such a way to support each other, the "Ersh. Krasny Sulin" reports.

More than 60 miners have officially declared a hunger strike because of wage arrears, reports Yuri Cheburakov, the chief of the department of the territorial committee of the Russian trade union of coal miners in Gukovo of the Rostov Region. According to him, in total, the protest action involves more than 100 people.
