In Gukovo, number of hunger-strikers decreases to 64 people
On August 29, one man stopped his participation in the hunger strike of miners of the Rostov Region in connection with deterioration of his health state.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 26, the authorities of the Rostov Region reported on 222 payments to workers of the "Kingcoal" company. According to the authorities, by the evening of August 29, the number of the workers who got their wages has increased up to 441 people. On August 28, participants of the hunger strike in Gukovo reported that the wage arrears amounting to less than 10 million roubles were paid to the miners not involved in the protest action.
On August 29, the number of hunger-strikers decreased to 64 people, since 60-year-old Viktor Ostapenko, who worked as a miner at the mine "Zamchalovskaya", felt sick. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Nikolai Nadkernichny, a member of the initiative group to coordinate the miners' protest actions.
According to Nikolai Nadkernichny, an ambulance was called for Viktor Ostapenko because of the problems with his pancreas. After that he had to stop his hunger strike for health reasons.
As far as miner Vladimir Golotsukov is concerned, who in this May fell seriously ill because of nerves and stays motionless in bed, then no money came to his account, although the protesters wrote a separate letter with a request to allocate funds for him. This was reported by Nikolai Nadkernichny.
He has noted that Vladimir Golotsukov needs to undergo a brain tomography for medical treatment. However, it is impossible to make the tomography because of its high cost, which, according to Nikolai Nadkernichny, amounts to 7500 roubles.
