Court fines two participants of Kuban farmers' protest
The court has obliged each of truck drivers Andrei Bazhutin and Arkady Moshnikov, detained in Rostov-on-Don among participants of the farmers' tractor march, to pay a fine amounting to 10,000 roubles.
On August 21, farmers of the Krasnodar Territory started a tractor run to Moscow. They attempted to draw the authorities' attention to the raiders' seizure of land plots in the region. On August 23, the farmers were detained in the Rostov Region, when they gathered in a cafe for talks with representatives of the presidential permanent mission in the Southern Federal District (SFD).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of September 2, four members of the tractor march organized by the Kuban farmers in protest against raiders' seizures of land plots in the Krasnodar Territory were detained at a parking lot in Rostov-on-Don. The number of the detainees included truck drivers Andrei Bazhutin and Arkady Moshnikov.
In the evening of September 2, the Novousmansky District Court of the Voronezh Region considered administrative materials against Andrei Bazhutin and Arkady Moshnikov.
Both of them were found guilty of violating the order of holding public events. The court has obliged each of them to pay an administrative fine in the amount of 10,000 roubles, reports the website "Association of Carriers of Russia".
In the Arkady Moshnikov's case, the court decision points out that the defendant's truck bore inscriptions reading: "We pay taxes, and where our roads?", "Have you made your decision?", "Excise is a tax, and we will not pay more!!!" Meanwhile, according to the court, the organization and publicity of the event is indicated by the inscription on the truck: "Association of Carriers of Russia", reports the website of the independent human rights media project "OVD-Info".
