Republican Party of Armenia nominates Karen Karapetyan for post of Prime Minister
The President of Armenia has proposed to nominate Karen Karapetyan to the post of the Armenian Prime Minister, and members of the ruling party have agreed to the proposal initiated by Serzh Sargsyan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, at the government meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Ovik Abramyan has announced his decision to resign. Ovik Abramyan was appointed to the post in April 2014. The candidacy of Karen Karapetyan, the former Mayor of Yerevan and the former director of the "ArmRosgazprom", was discussed for the post as a successor to Ovik Abramya.
As a result, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia has approved the candidacy of Karen Karapetyan to the post of the Armenian Prime Minister. This was reported by Artak Zakaryan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly (Parliament).
