Karen Karapetyan appointed Prime Minister of Armenia

Today, the President of Armenia has signed a decree to appoint Karen Karapetyan to the post of Prime Minister of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the former Prime Minister Ovik Abramyan announced his decision to resign at a sitting of the government. The candidacy of Karen Karapetyan, ex-Mayor of Yerevan and the former head of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) "ArmRosgazprom", nominated by Republican Party, was discussed as Abramyan's successor and, eventually, approved.
