Kuban farmers to meet Vladimir Putin on September 23

According to Alexei Volchenko, the leader of the movement "Polite Farmers", on September 15, he got a call from the presidential administration of Russia and was informed that their meeting with Vladimir Putin had been scheduled for September 23.

On August 21 Kuban farmers held a rally in the village of Kazanskaya, opposing the raiders' captures of land plots by huge agricultural holdings; and on the same day they started their tractor rally to Moscow. They were stopped by policemen in the Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region; many of the activists were fined or arrested for the participation in the action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 9, Kuban farmers, who tried to hold a tractor march, and headed to Moscow, sent an appeal to the administration of the President of Russia. In their appeal, they listed all the problems, because of which they organized their protest action.

The farmers intend to tell the Russian President about the numerous cases of raiders' seizure of their land plots in the Krasnodar Territory and to complain about the pressure from the local authorities and law enforcement bodies.

"Instead of being engaged in investigation into our problems to help us solve them, as they promised, they put pressure on us. After a call from the presidential administration, we've caught second wind. At last, we'll be listened to," Alexei Volchenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
