"Chernovik": voting in Dagestan held with massive violations

Residents of Dagestan have reported on falsifications at polling stations, campaigning for the ruling party on the day of voting, and other violations to the Centre to monitor violations during the elections, created under the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft)".

For the time of voting, the weekly newspaper "Chernovik" together with the PR-agency "Mediafact" created a centre with the main task to monitor violations on the voting day of September 18, 2016. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Thus, it has been reported with reference to the information from the headquarters of self-nominee Abusupyan Kharakharov in the Rutul District that the polling station in the village of Kiche was visited by one of the top-ranking officials of the government of Dagestan, who came together with the former head of the district. They have claimed that candidate Abusupyan Kharakharov "still does not win the elections, so it is necessary to alter the voting records to reflect a different number of votes."

Violations were registered by observers of the "Labour Union" Party at the electoral district No. 1053 in Makhachkala. The chair of the Precinct Election Commission (PEC) "refuses an observer in verification of the place of registration (residence) of suspicious groups of individuals to check their affiliation to the electoral district."

In their turn, residents of Derbent have reported that "buses with people tour around the city, stop at every polling station, and people vote on supplementary lists in favour of candidates from the 'Edinaya Rossiya' Party."
