Opposition admits its defeat at elections in the Krasnodar Territory
The violations committed in the course of voting at elections in the Krasnodar Territory had no essential impact on the election outcomes, the regional branches of the PARNAS Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and the "Yabloko" Party have acknowledged. They explained their poor results with the shortage of resources for successful election campaigns.
According to the Russia's Central Election Commission (CEC), the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party was the winner in the Krasnodar Territory at the State Duma elections with 59.32% of votes.
According to Leonid Zaprudin, the leader of the territorial branch of the PARNAS Party, this time at polling stations observers "fixed fewer violations compared to previous elections." At the same time, he confessed that "it has become difficult to find volunteers for observation." Observers from the PARNAS Party "were able to cover only 15 polling stations in Krasnodar," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to Mr Zaprudin, at one station in Krasnodar a commission member was forbidden to photo and video violations.
He added that they tried to submit complaints about violations "to election commissions, but they wouldn't accept them."
Evgeny Rasschepkin, the second secretary of the territorial CPRF committee of the Communist Party said that observers-communists "also recorded violations at polling stations." However, in his opinion, "it was virtually impossible to prove a fact of violation."
Vladimir Ryzhaev, the head of the territorial branch of the "Yabloko" Party, stated that his electoral office "received no information about significant violations." He knew nothing about the violations in the city of Tuapse, which were stated by Evgeny Vitishko.
