KChR head appoints new senator
Rashid Temrezov, who was re-elected on September 18 for his new term as the head of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) has appointed a new senator (member of the Russia's Federation Council) – Rauf Arashukov. He will substitute Krym Kazanokov, who was appointed to represent the republic at the Federation Council in February 2016.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, the MPs of the KChR unanimously re-elected Temrezov as head of the republic. He heads the KChR since February 2011.
Rauf Arashukov is a son of the former head of the regional branch of the "Mezhregiongaz" Raul Arashukov. Since December 2015, the new senator was the head of the administration of the Khabez District of the republic, the "Kommersant" reports.
