Smash of polling station in Gotsatl helped ER's Magramov to defeat Kharkharov
Abusupyan Kharkharov, a candidate for the State Duma from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (ER) (United Russia) Party, has lost the election to Abdulmazhid Magramov in the Southern Single-Mandate Constituency No. 12 after a fight and ballot stuffing at the polling station in the village of Gotsatl and suspicious voting in the Kulin District. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), all the 7193 voters of the Kulin District voted for Magramov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on the voting, in the Dagestani village of Gotsatl, several young people, who supported one of the candidates, broke the ballot box and started a fight.
The fight occurred at an observer's attempt to prevent a ballot stuffing (throw-in), the source said earlier.
The incident occurred, when it became clear that Abusupyan Kharkharov, a single-mandate candidate, is defeating at the polling station the ER candidate Abdulmazhid Magramov, said one of the villagers.
The district administration said that the author of the video "is groundlessly trying to place the responsibility for the destruction of the ballot box on the district administration."
As a result, the voting outcomes at this polling station were annulled.
The situation with Kharkharov, who is close to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan, "has demonstrated what in Russia the most traditional and ultra-loyal to Kremlin Muslims are worth to, when they begin claiming to some role in politics," the edition named "Voice of Islam" reports.
