Two soldiers, six rebels killed in clash
A clash between federal soldiers and a rebel group took place in the capital of Chechnya yesterday, October 25. The rebel group was cordoned off in a tumbledown building in the Staropromislovsky district of Grozny. There were six people in the group, according to the Chechen Interior Ministry. They refused to give themselves up and went into action with a unit of federal forces. Two federal servicemen were killed and five received wounds of different severity in the combat, which lasted for over an hour. The encircled rebels also died. They blew themselves up by grenades when their ammunition was over. Law enforcers are working to identify the killed rebels.
