MCC denies complaint against arrest of student Murad Ragimov

Now, the student's defence will seek annulment of his arrest at the Presidium of the Moscow City Court (MCC), said the advocate Murad Kakhrimanov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ragimov was detained on August 30 in Moscow on suspicion of links with militant formations in Syria, as well as of involvement in the attack on policemen in Dagestan. After power agents found out that Ragimov could not travel outside Russia, as he had no respective passport, they searched his apartment and stated, in the presence of their own witnesses, that they had found narcotic drugs, as relatives of the young man believe.

His sister Gyunay said that during detention Murad Ragimov was severely beaten.

On September 22, the MCC dismissed the appeal against Ragimov's custody.

The advocate Murad Kakhrimanov said that the defence had appealed against the illegal actions of power agents, who conducted Ragimov's search and detention.

Let us remind you that the "Change.org" platform has posted a petition in defence of Ragimov. The signatories treat the action of power agents as "lawlessness" and "abuse".

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer. The amount is ridiculous and should be appealed against, lawyers and human rights defenders have stated.
