CPRF members go on hunger strike in Buynaksk
There are 15 hunger-strikers from the Buynaksk branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), who demand to revise the election outcomes in Buynaksk, said Kamil Shakhbulatov, the branch leader.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, Dagestan held voting at election of MPs of the Russia's State Duma and the People's Assembly of Dagestan, where the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party won most of the votes. According to some oppositional parties, numerous violations were registered at elections in Dagestan, which affected the outcomes of the vote.
The hunger strike is taking place in the office of the Buynaksk city CPRF branch, located in the building of the Buynaksk Aggregate Factory, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"During elections in Buynaksk, violations were admitted almost at all polling stations; the election outcomes are a pure farce," Mr Shakhbulatov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Let all the people know that we'll seek revision of the election outcomes in Buynaksk. To draw attention to this problem, we've decided to go on hunger strike," he has stressed.
