Stavropol Territorial Prosecutor's Office takes Kaibaliev's murder under control

The progress in the inquiry into the murder of Ravil Kaibaliev, Deputy Imam of the village of Kara-Tyube, was taken under personal control of Eduard Mukhametov, the acting public prosecutor of the StavropolTerritory. So far, the only officially declared version of the murder is a road conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the body of Ravil Kaibaliev with bullet wounds was found on the roadside of the Budyonnovsk-Kara-Tyube Highway on September 26. Imam Kaibaliev became the seventh casualty among Muslim activists in the StavropolTerritory since 2012.

On September 27, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported that there were several versions of the murder, but made public only one of them, namely, that Kaibaliev was killed in a traffic conflict, says the official website of the Stavropol Territorial Department of the ICRF.

However, a number of public and religious figures have linked Kaibaliev's murder with his professional activities. This, in particular, was stated by Ravil Gainutdin, the head of the Russian Council of Muftis; Kharun Sidorov, the head of the National Organization of Russian Muslims; and Maxim Shevchenko, a member of the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the President of Russia; the latter had known the slain Imam personally, the "Voice of Islam" writes.

Members of the Muslim religious community of Kara-Tyube also associate Ravil Kaibaliev's murder with his active religious activities. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by community members that Imam Kaibaliev was under pressure from power agents.
