In Nagorno-Karabakh, participants of roundtable propose direct dialogue to resolve Karabakh conflict
During the negotiations on the Karabakh conflict settlement, politicians should take into account the opinion of ordinary people. This was stated by participants of the roundtable "Problems and ways of resolving the conflict between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan and the role of society in the national security".
The roundtable was organized by the Nagorno-Karabakh NGO "Motherhood", and it took place in the town of Martakert of the Martakert District on September 30.
Asmik Mikaelyan, the leader of the Karabakh NGO "Motherhood", has reminded the audience that residents of Martakert survived two wars and are aware what it means to lose relatives, to be deported to leave the house while escaping the bombing.
According to Marine Mikaelyan, a staff member of the History Regional Museum of the Martakert District, Azerbaijani people will hardly dare to freely express their opinion, "given the political processes and the totalitarian regime in the country."
Political analyst Artak Beglaryan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, has noted that "the two Armenian states Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) can only strengthen their military potential, and that is being done in recent several months."
"The strong army will provide us with strong diplomacy and time and opportunity for economic recovery. The strong economy and army will provide a secure future of Artsakh," explained Artak Beglaryan.
