Demilitarization 'is demonstrative by nature', South Osetian authorities hold

The dismantling of blindages and other engineering structures has started in one of the hottest areas of the Georgian-Osetian conflict zone near the Georgian village of Tamarasheni, reported the United Press Center of South Osetia. Nevertheless the South Osetian authorities hold that the withdrawal of units will be unequal since Georgian fortifications and camps of reservists are still concentrated along the perimeter of the border, in particular in the zone of responsibility of the Peacekeeping Forces in Georgia's Gori district. At the same time, as reported by the United Press Center of South Osetia and press center of the Combined Peacekeeping Forces, the process of demilitarization is demonstrative by nature since "it won't be difficult to dig out new trenches where those just filled up are". "The Georgian side doesn't take measures to withdraw illegal armed unites, which have no right to stay in the zone of responsibility of the Peacekeeping Forces," announced the United Press Center of South Osetia.
