Relatives of missing Dagestanis complain about authorities' refusal to meet them

Officials refuse to meet mothers of missing Dagestanis, women-activists of the movement "Mother's Heart". According to their story, the police forced them, under threat of detention, to move the action from the central square to the park.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 14 activists of the "Mother's Heart" gathered in downtown Makhachkala aiming to remind the authorities about kidnappings and extrajudicial killings in the republic.

The action lasted for about four hours, during which none of the officials came to meet the protesters.

Zhanna Ismailova, the mother of the kidnapped Rashid Ismailov, said that "relatives of missing people have to hold action out of despair."

"My son is a Category II invalid; he was kidnapped in May 2015 from the yard of the hospital in Derbent. Plenty of eyewitnesses saw how he was kidnapped by masked gunmen He was beaten up, thrown into a car without number plates and driven away," said Kizilgyul Karakhanova, the mother of the kidnapped Magomedrasul Karakhanov.

Activists of the movement have added that "four mothers of kidnapped guys tried unsuccessfully to make an appointment with the Deputy Prime Minister Ramazan Djafarov."
