Book on research of Azokh Cave presented in Stepanakert

In Nagorno-Karabakh, Azokh Cave is of great importance for the study of life of primitive man, and excavations in it should be continued. This was stated on November 25 by participants of the presentation of the first collection of articles on the research of Azokh Cave.

Azokh Cave is located in the Gadrut Region of Nagorno-Karabakh. It was discovered in 1960.

The book with collection of articles entitled "Azokh Cave and the Transcaucasian Corridor" was published by the international publishing house "Springer". The book included scientific articles written by members of the archaeological expedition to Azokh Cave.

On November 25, Stepanakert hosted the presentation of the book. So far, the book is published in "several thousand copies," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Levon Episkoposyan, an expedition leader, the chief of the laboratory for ethnogenomics of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia.

"Copies of books will be purchased by universities all over the world, and then, on the basis of need, new copies will be published. The book includes 15 articles written by 40 authors who took part in the excavation and the research of Azokh Cave," reports Levon Episkoposyan.
