In Dagestan, two persons killed in shootout with law enforcers

In the Karabudakhkent District, law enforcers shot and killed two policemen, who, according to the law enforcement authorities, opened fire when they attempted to stop their car to check the driver's documents.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), at about 10:00 p.m. on December 20, at the federal section of the road near the village of Manas of the Karabudakhkent District, policemen stopped a VAZ-2109 car to check the driver's documents. However, fire was opened on the law enforcers from the car.

Both persons in the car were killed by return fire, the RIA "Novosti" reports today, on December 21, with reference to a Dagestani MIA's official.

The identification of the killed people is underway, and weapons were seized from the car, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the press service of the Dagestani MIA.
