Electricity tariffs reduced in Armenia
Today, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia has made a decision to reduce electricity tariffs for all consumer groups, including by 2.6% for the population. The new tariffs will take effect from February 1, 2017.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Karen Karapetyan, who headed the government of Armenia on September 13, promised systemic changes that will reduce the economic tensions in the country.
The decision to reduce electricity tariffs for all consumer groups was made today at a sitting of the PSRC, a press officer of the Commission told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, the tariff for the population will be dropped by 2.6%, and for the socially disadvantaged families – by 13.4%.
Let us remind you that in June 2015 the decision to raise electricity tariffs triggered mass protests in Armenia, during which policemen used violence.
