Ramzan Kadyrov reports militants' plans to capture tank unit

The main tasks of a grouping of militants, neutralized on January 11, were to capture a tank unit and to attack the village of Khankala. This was reported by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of January 11, an armed clash occurred in the village of Tsotsi-Yurt of the Kurchaloi District. As a result, four suspected militants and two soldiers of the Russian Guard were killed. One of the suspected militants managed to flee. However, on January 14, wanted Imran Datsaev was detained in Grozny. Ramzan Kadyrov accused him of killing a policeman.

The men killed in the armed clash on January 11 have been identified. According to law enforcers, the killed suspects were closely involved in the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia.

On January 15, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the completion of the special operation launched in the Kurchaloi District.

According to the Chechen leader, the main task of the killed men was to capture a tank unit and to attack the Groznyvillage of Khankala, where a military base was deployed.

"A man detained yesterday said that their task was to murder religious figures and their family members, employees of the administration, civil servants, and staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). They had a further task to capture a tank unit and to open fire from there at Khankala and then attack Khankala," Ramzan Kadyrov said in his interview to the "Russia 24" TV Channel.
