"Interfax": 60 suspects of links with IS detained in Chechnya

About 60 militants and their helpers, associated with the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, have been detained in a special operation in Chechnya, the "Interfax" reports referring to its source in power agencies of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Chechen residents informed about mass detentions held in eight dwelling settlements of the republic after the armed clash that occurred on January 11 in the village of Tsotsi-Yurt, Kurchaloi District of Chechnya, where four suspected militants and two Rosgvardiya (Russian Guard) servicemen were killed.

Power agents believe that those killed in Tsotsi-Yurt had close links with the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned Russia. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, they had planned to capture a tank unit and to attack Khankala, a neighbourhood of Grozny.

"In the course of a special operation in Chechnya, four militants were liquidated; and about 60 others were detained," a source from the power structures of the NCFD said today.

According to his story, the whole network of the armed underground, closely associated with the IS, has been disclosed.
