Andi residents report house-to-house visits of power agents

Power agents are checking passports in the village of Andi, Botlikh District of Dagestan, said local residents.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 7, Andi was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. Militants and their helpers are searched for in the village.

"Power agents inspect houses and study tenants’ documents; no shooting was heard in the village,” one of the locals said.

Since the start of 2017, the CTO regime was introduced in the Botlikh District for the first time. In 2016, there were three CTOs in Andy. Thus, on January 25, 2016, a suspected militant was killed; and his relative was wounded.

On March 25, 2016, the village was put under the CTO regime in connection with the search for militants. The CTO regime was lifted on March 27. No results if the CTO were reported.

In August 2016, during a CTO, Shamil Gadjiev, the alleged head of the "mountain sector" of the armed underground, his brother Ali Gadjiev, Yakub Magomedov and Magomedgadji Magomedgadjiev were killed.
