Andi residents feel no problems because of CTO

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, introduced in the village of Andi, Botlikh District of Dagestan, on February 7, may extend for other 10 days. The CTO means document check only, said an employee of the district administration.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 7 the village of Andi was put under the CTO regime. On February 8, local residents reported that power agents were checking passports.

According to the above employee municipal officials were notified by law enforcers about a possible extension of the CTO regime for 10 days more. He added that the administration received no locals’ complaints about power agents’ actions.

The CTO has not affected the life of the village, said one of the locals. Children attend school as usual; there are no restrictions on leaving and entering the village; only the enhanced scrutiny of documents is performed. The local could not specify whether there are detainees among his fellow villagers.
