Kadyrov mistakenly reported about apologies of Russian Chief Rabbi
Ramzan Kadyrov has received from the Moscow Jewish Religious Community a video record of the statement of Pinchas Goldschmidt, who apologized for his words about Muslims-terrorists, Olga Esaulova, the spokeswoman of the community, told the "Caucasian Knot". Kadyrov himself, when speaking about Goldschmidt’s apologies, mistakenly called him the Chief Rabbi of Russia.
In his interview, published on February 8, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt said that "in fact, today 99 percent of terrorists are Muslims."
He also noted that every country, including the United States, has the right to defend its citizens, but measures like an entry ban for all Muslims, "is not an answer to terrorism, it’s populism."
Pinchas Goldschmidt was sharply criticized for his statement by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Adygea and Chechnya.
On February 13, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, posted a video of Goldschmidt’s apology on his page in the Instagram.
Kadyrov has stated that "it’s time to draw a line under the discussion of Goldschmidt’s interview."
He mistakenly called Goldschmidt "the Chief Rabbi of Russia." Pinchas Goldschmidt is the Chief Rabbi of Moscow, not of Russia; he is also the Chairman of the Board of Rabbis of Europe, says the website of the Moscow Choral Synagogue.
