Congress of Karachay People demands to ban screening of "Fifty Shades Darker" in KChR

The public organization "Congress of Karachay People" has criticized the movie "Fifty Shades Darker" and demanded from the authorities of the Karachay-CherkessianRepublic (KChR) to ban the film in the republic.

On February 17, the Congress sent a respective appeal to the head of the KChR Rashid Temrezov, the Chairman of the National Assembly Alexander Ivanov, the Chairman of the KChR’s Public Chamber Vera Moldovanova, and the Republic’s Culture Minister Ramazan Borokov.

"We believe that the erotic movie ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ has no place in the movie theatres of our republic. The movie is contrary to our centuries-old traditions, culture, religion, mentality and general values, rooted in ancient times. It contributes to degradation of the moral and ethical component, and, as a consequence, of our society as a whole," said Kady Khalkechev, the head of the Congress.
