In Dagestan, law enforcers identify owner of car with explosives

The car, in which law enforcers found explosives and a Kalashnikov submachine gun, belonged to an accomplice of the "Southern" armed grouping of militants. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a car packed with explosives and a Kalashnikov submachine gun was found in Derbent on March 2.

After the inspection of the car, specialists of the explosive ordnance disposal team from the Russian FSB Department for Dagestan have reported on discovery inside the car of two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) filled with striking elements and ready for use. The secret services and the police have identified the owner of the car. He turned out to be an accomplice of the "Southern" armed grouping of militants, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies of the republic.

The specialists have transported the IEDs in a special container out of the city and undermined them. Their total capacity was about 700 grams of TNT equivalent, the Republican State Broadcasting Company "Dagestan" reports.
