Resident of Chechnya complains about disappearance of his relative

Beslan Basnukaev, a 42-year-old resident of the village of Aslambek-Sheripovo of the mountainous Shatoi District, disappeared when he left for Grozny in the evening of March 7. This was reported by a relative of the man.

In the evening of March 7, Beslan Basnukaev left the house in his car in the direction of Grozny and never returned home. His relative added that Beslan Basnukaev "had no problems with the law."

Family members of Beslan Basnukaev, his close friends, acquaintances, and fellow villagers are engaged in the search for the disappeared man.

"The police have refused to accept a complaint about the Beslan's disappearance. A duty officer has said that they can put a person on the wanted list only three days after his disappearance," said a relative of the disappeared man.

Nevertheless, the family members and close friends of Beslan Basnukaev are very worried about the situation. "The man, with a car, cannot just disappear without traces. The strangest thing is in the fact that until present, we have not yet succeed in finding anyone who at least saw his car on the way to Grozny, "says local resident Ibragim, an acquaintance of the family members of disappeared Beslan Basnukaev.
