One of journalists beaten up in Krasnodar Territory hospitalized
The operator of the Radio Liberty crew, who came to film the "tractor march" of the Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) farmers, was taken to hospital after the attack of unidentified persons, said his colleague. The local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed the information about the beating up of journalists.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the filming crew of the Radio Liberty was attacked in the town of Kropotkin, where they came to film the "tractor march", said the injured journalist Sergey Khazov-Kassia.
The police are searching for the attackers on journalists of Radio Liberty, said Maria Pirogova, the head of the press service of the Territorial Chief Department (CD) of the MIA.
The equipment, claimed by journalists as stolen, was found by policemen in their hotel room, the TASS reports with reference to the press service of the CD of the MIA for the Krasnodar Territory.
The filming group of two journalists was attacked by 10-15 persons; the operator was hospitalized, the "Yuga.ru" reports with reference to Sergey Khazov-Kassia.
"Andrey Kostyanoff is in hospital; they broke his rib; I’m at the police station; they broke nothing in me. The hotel is full of surveillance cameras, which are controlling the entire perimeter, but ‘the records are not preserved’," Sergey Khazov-Kassia wrote on his Facebook page.
