Three Alexei Navalny's supporters fined in Rostov-on-Don

On March 29, the Proletarsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don fined three citizens who spoke at a rally against corruption that took place in Rostov-on-Don on March 26.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26 many Russian cities hosted anti-corruption actions – the public reaction to the inquiry conducted by Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Fund (known as the FBK) into the corruption schemes with the use of charitable funds, acting, according to the FBK, in the interests of Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev. Mass detentions of protesters took place, in particular, in Krasnodar, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don and Makhachkala.

The number of the activists fined on March 29 by the court includes Andrei Sklyarov, an activist of the "Yabloko" Party.

"The Court fined Andrei Sklyarov, Chairman of the Rostov 'Youth Yabloko' Party, 15,000 roubles. Besides, each of two other residents of Rostov-on-Don Alexander Bannikov and Viktor Pletnyov was also fined by the Court 15,000 roubles," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the organizing committee of the recent rally.

Andrei Sklyarov has announced his intention to appeal against the Court's decision.
