Rostov extremists involved in attack on "Caucasian Knot" correspondent
Ruslan Pavlyuk, a member of the Rostov branch of the extremist organization "Misanthropic Division" banned in the Russian Federation, charged and detained under Article 282, is also involved in the case of Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who was attacked in Rostov-on-Don. The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 10, Vladislav Ryazantsev was beaten near the building of the government of the Rostov Region. The attackers were frightened away by passers-by.
According to the investigators, the attack on Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, was committed by members of the Rostov branch of the extremist organization "Misanthropic Division" banned in the Russian Federation. A criminal case has been instituted against Ruslan Pavlyuk, one of its members.
The RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to an official from the law enforcement bodies that nationalist Roman Zheleznov is another figurant of the case. He is involved in the case as the leader of the unit of the extremist organization "Misanthropic Division" banned in the Russian Federation.
The case on the attack on Vladislav Ryazantsev is being investigated under the article about beatings. The responsibility for the attack on the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was claimed by "Russian National Socialists". They have stated that the journalist's beating was a kind of "educational work" in retaliation for "his active public activities."
