In North Ossetia, truck drivers' demands ignored, protestors claim (+video)

Most media and the federal authorities do not pay attention to the protests of truck drivers in North Ossetia. This was claimed by the protesters. They have also noted that their demands for the cancellation of the "Platon" system and reduction of fuel prices remain in force.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27, truck drivers in North Ossetia declared an indefinite strike. The demands of the drivers of heavy trucks on protest include the cancellation of the "Platon" system, the reduction of the price for diesel fuel and the refusal of "X-raying" trucks at the exit from the republic.

According to participants of the protest action in the village of Kardjin, the mass media ignore the truck drivers' protest, and the Russian government does not enter a dialogue.

"I'm very disappointed that our state does not hear me. I'm a legitimate taxpayer. Media do not show that we have gathered here and what demands we have. Why does no one pay attention to us? Are we not citizens of Russia? Have we violated any law? Why do not they let reporters to interview us and why does the (Russian) government not start a dialogue with us?", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Totraz Mamukaev, a truck driver with 35 years of experience, a participant of the strike in the village of Kardjin.
