Kuban truckers express disappointment with protest action
Truckers’ demands are ignored, law enforcers ban protest actions on highways; and it makes no sense to hold a "passive" strike and sit at home in the sowing season, the Krasnodar (Kuban) truckers have stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in early April the protest action against the “Platon” system in Krasnodar was disrupted by law enforcers, who blocked all the entrances to the city. According to protesters, Kuban truckers are disunited and intimidated.
The protesters’ moods are oppressed; they sit at home, said Sergey Gritsenko, the coordinator of the truckers’ strike in the Krasnodar Territory.
According to his story, in fact, only their employers know about the participation of Kuban truckers in the all-Russian strike.
He has added that he understands that a “passive” strike is fruitless, but he does not want to bring people into streets, since they all have been warned about punishments for unsanctioned rallies.
Truckers see no sense in continuing their protest action, as no one hears them, said Vitaly Dmitriev, a trucker from Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Kuban truckers should formulate their demands and send them to the authorities, said Tigran Balayan, a protester from the Ust-Labinsk District.
