Picketers in Rostov-on-Don demand to stop repressions

Activists of the Rostov action, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the dispersal of the "March of Millions" in Bolotnaya Square, have demanded to liberate political prisoners and promised to continue their protest until the this demand is fulfilled.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today Rostov-on-Don hosted an action to commemorate the events in Bolotnaya Square in May 2012.

According to organizers, the oppositional picket in the Builders' Park was about 30 persons strong.

"The aim was to express solidarity with a large number of political prisoners, disagreement with the practice of politically-motivated persecutions and support of each other in the hope that this will stop. The picket is dated to the start of mass repressions – the events of May 6, 2012, in Bolotnaya Square," said Nikolai Kladovoy, the organizer of the picket.

Let us remind you that today at the above picket, Sergey Rulyov, a blogger and a correspondent of the "Slavic News" edition, was detained. He was accused of violating the public order and fined by 500 roubles.
