Head of Ingushetia announces return of five militants to peaceful life

Five out of seven residents of Ingushetia, who had fought in Syria for the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization, banned in Russia, have returned to peaceful life, the head of the republic, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, has reported. In total, according to his story, 123 Ingushes had fought in Syria; 67 of them were killed.

According to Mr Evkurov, seven persons, who returned to Ingushetia from Syria, "tried to continue their criminal activities. Two of them were killed; the remaining five have surrendered. We have adapted them and are now monitoring."

According to his version, 123 persons had left Ingushetia to fight for the militants; 67 of them were killed. Evkurov said that he is not a supporter of radical measures, in particular, of deprivation of citizenship of the militants, who changed their mind and want to return to their homeland, the "Russia 24" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14, Ingushetia set up a public council aimed to render psychological and legal support to members of militants' families, help them in finding jobs and getting education. Mr Evkurov has also announced the creation of a council involving the widows of killed militants.
