More than 5000 residents of South Ossetia come to action "Immortal Regiment"

In Tskhinvali, the action of the memory "Immortal Regiment" began after the solemn parade and the laying of flowers to the monuments to participants of World War II.

In total, the parade involved more than 900 soldiers and officers and 30 pieces of military vehicles, including the "Grad" multiple rocket launchers, BTR-80, and artillery anti-aircraft mounts, the "Sputnik-Ossetia" reports.

After the parade, the "Immortal Regiment" action started in the square. According to the official information, it involved more than 5000 residents of South Ossetia. In their hands, they were holding photos of their relatives who fell victim to World War II.

The events to celebrate the Victory Day also included the laying of flowers to the monuments to participants in World War II, the action "Saint George Ribbon", and folk festivities, the "Sputnik-Ossetia" reports.

Let us remind you that the authorities of South Ossetia have made a decision to close the border with Georgia for the period from May 9 to 10 in order to enhance security measures during the festive events. This was reported by the KGB of South Ossetia on May 8.
