In Sochi, participants of action "Immortal Regiment" complain about low pensions
Today, starting from 9:00 a.m., Sochi has held the festive events dedicated to the Victory Day, reports the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to the City Mayor's Office, a festive rally held in the Zavokzalny District of Sochi was attended by 3000 people.
An hour later, Sochi held the march "Immortal Regiment", which involved more than 10,000 people. Participants of the action marched three kilometres along Kurortny Avenue, from the Winter Theatre building to the monument "Feat for Life".
In her conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, Maria Kolpakova, an 80-year-old participant of the action "Immortal Regiment", has admitted that she "has to work as a cleaner, since her pension in the amount of 10,000 roubles is not enough for life." "The money goes to pay for utilities. I earn additional money. I get another amount of 9000 roubles for my extra work. And I spend this additional money to purchase food," said Maria Kolpakova.
"Our holidays are organized to be very nice: with fireworks, with songs, dances, and speeches... However, in fact, the authorities do not think at all about how the people live, who already do not have enough strength to work. Only those people who get benefits receive pensions in the amounts of 20,000-35,000 roubles. And those people who do not receive any benefits have 8000-10,000 roubles a month for life," added Maria Kolpakova.
